Edward Vulliamy
Edward took up painting when he retired ten years ago. After several painting courses at Richmond Adult College, the City Lit and the Slade Summer School he has settled into painting two or three paintings a month either in watercolour or acrylic.
Most of these paintings are of landscapes or cityscapes. Occasionally he paints people (as in two of his paintings on this website). In the future he intends to paint mainly at home from sketches and photographs with the occasional ‘plein air’ painting excursion.
Artists from the past who have most influenced him include many of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. He and his wife also have a small collection of contemporary artists such as John Yardley, Curt Jackson and Chris Bushe; these also exert some influence.
