Kate Grant
Kate Grant now works full-time from her studio at home. Previously she had to combine her work with publishing and editorial duties. She has always drawn, but despite almost going to art school, she had to earn a living from the very start. She has attended many courses in London, mainly at the Wimbledon School of Art, under the direction of the late Francis Turner.
She has exhibited for many years in mixed shows, including the Mall Galleries, but recently has been involved mostly with portraiture. As has been said about them “her portraits are lively and interesting in their poses. The fluid line of her composiion and very fresh use of her medium contribute to an unusually vivid and vibrant image”.
Pastels are the medium she finds most rewarding for her work.
