Plein Air

Painting or drawing outside can be challenging and sometimes lonely: joining one of Martin Burrough’s led Plein Air days will help you enjoy the freedom and fun of being out and about in London with other SoFAP members and guests. All selected venues will have the convenience of shelter and loos nearby.
We meet at 10am and re-group at about 12.45 for lunch (either picnic or café stop) recommencing when you choose for the rest of the day. Finishing with a refreshing cup of tea and cake at about 4pm allows us to share how we have fared and what we have created: it’s all part of the day.

We usually meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays and whilst not tutored they are led groups. It is hoped that where transport is needed, those with cars will offer seats, however most venues will be close to public transport. In the case of bad weather it is up to the individual to decide if it is possible to sketch or not, but it has been proven that special effects can result from painting in the cold and wet.

If you would like to join the group on any of these days, please contact Martin Burrough at martin.burrough@mac.com.

You can also register your interest so you are included in any special emailed announcements.
