Romaine Dennistoun
Very simply, I draw wildlife, from life:
Using pen & ink and watercolour I begin with small fast drawings for both information and focus. Getting to know my subject is a joy. Then after countless discarded sketches, he may approach and briefly, look at me. Conspiratorially we share something indefinable. And at last the drawing comes.
Since 2002 I have exhibited with most of the
major national wildlife art societies and during
the last three years have also taught all ages
from primary to adult education including young offenders. I graduated from St Martin’s and studied in Italy but my principal tutors have been my subjects themselves.
I am passionate about my work and am happy to accompany individuals or small groups to London Zoo or Barnes Wetlands for a full or half day’s drawing from life. Please contact me for
further details.
I look forward to showing some of my most recent work at the SOFAP Spring Exhibition, and June 25/26 will be exhibiting at Kentchurch, Herefordshire, (as seen on “Country House Restoration”) in conjunction with their NGS
Open Weekend.
Exhibiting at:
Marwell International Wildlife Art Society,
Marwell Zoo, SO21 1JH
Thursday 25 – Monday 29 August 2011
