Following a busy career as banker, I retired early to focus on my art practice, which had until then had to take second place. I love colour and bold form, and enjoy all subjects : landscape, particularly beach and coastal ; still life and interiors; the human form, particularly clothed in quirky attire, reflecting my interest in fashion and costume. The play of daylight and shade, sunny and joyful scenes, the warm light of a sunset inspire many of my pictures. Plein air sketches and photos form the starting point for my pictures. Oils are my preferred medium. Latterly I have started to learn silk screen printing, which is proving a challenge and a delight. I have exhibited in London at the South Bank Printers Gallery, the Andrew Robson Bridge Club in Fulham, Putney Art, Putney Open Studios, Art in the Park in Wimbledon, Putney Art School. My paintings hang in private collections in the UK, France, Spain, Australia and the United States.
