Caroline will be leading a joyful journey to gain confidence in risk taking, letting go of preciousness and embracing discovery. Suitable for all levels. Use the discoveries in this workshop to free up/find your process and loosen up your outcomes.

About the Artist
Caroline has been a professional aritst for many years and comes from a background in Art and Architecture. She currently works mainly in acrylic inks using mop brushes on HP (smooth) watercolour paper and canvas and will be demonstrating them as part of the workshop.
She is also the Founder of The ArtSpa Experience – a workshop designed for relaxing, free-flow creative experimentation, open to all.

Part I
Being Unprecious
Free-Flow!
Bring any OLD mark making tools – felt tip pens, biros, highlighters, sharpies, crayons, pastels (anything except NOT chalks pastels or charcoal) ANY scrappy paper in a variety of sizes etc to do lots of free flow sketching on. Big is good if you want to really let go!

Caroline will give you guidance in what to pick out and what to leave out. B&W images of scenes and florals supplied but please bring your own too.
Part III
From Chaos to Control
Changing gears!
Bring 2/3 sheets of HP paper you can tape down (bring masking tape) to work on with acrylic inks. We will be looking at techniques in acrylic inks. Bring Acrylic inks if you have them or team up with a friend to share. Prussian Blue, Magenta, lemon yellow.
AND
A big round soft brush (other sizes if you have)
If you don’t want to use acryic inks, bring what ever you have and be prepared to experiment.
Part IV
Pulling it all together with the Magic of Collage
Upcycling secrets
Why use collage? How collage can help in decision making. Applying and enjoying.
Bring a small amount of regular matte medium for sticking down (or team up with a friend to share) and a non-precious paint brush.
Summary of Materials
- OLD mark making tools – felt tip pens, biros, high lighters, sharpies, crayons, pastels (Anything except NOT chalk pastels or charcoal) ANY scrappy paper in a variety of sizes
- A black sharpie or similar
- B&W photocopy images of favourite scenes /florals
- 2/3 sheets of HP (Smooth) paper
- Acrylic inks – a blue, a yellow and magenta (my favourites are DR FW Prussian Blue, Schminke Magenta, Schminke Lemon Yellow, Schminke Acid Green)
- A big round soft brush (other sizes if you have)
- Regular matte medium + clean smallish flat glueing brush
- Large water pot
- Kitchen towel or rag
- Masking tape
- A hair dryer please
We may or may not get through all of the above but lets give it a go!
