After semi-retiring a few years ago, I attended a small Wandsworth watercolour group. The other members of the group, most with art qualifications, mentored me on a steep learning curve. They encouraged me to be a member of the Society of Fulham Artists and Potters and through SOFAP I have displayed my works at their spring and autumn exhibitions and attended some of their amazing workshops.
In autumn 2013 I moved to Chichester, West Sussex, where I joined John Hill and Sukura Misumi's watercolour classes. I am now also a member of the Chichester Art Society and am exhibiting at their annual summer exhibitions.
As a complementary therapist for many years, I have learned a lot about how colour affects our moods and the influence it has on our body's health. Whilst my subjects are varied I tend to use bright colours. I have a desire to create paintings that I will enjoy working on and want them to be uplifting or to create a special mood to the observer.
More recently I have been experimenting using Brusho, metallic watercolour paint and water based oil paint.
